Microsoft Azure Tokenizes Community Rewards, Lithuania Launches Digital Collector Coin, Blockchain Copyright Management in Italy – BlockTV CryptoGlobe

In the December 11th, 2019 episode of CryptoGlobe, we discuss:

Microsoft Azure Heroes

In partnership with Enjin, Microsoft Azure has released the Azure Heroes tokenized developer community rewards using non-fungible tokens (NFT).

The limited edition “badgers” reward the Azure community for content creation, evangelization and code and will be tradable on the Ethereum blockchain.

This could be the beginning of a very cool trend in using NFT collectibles for startup user and developer community engagement.

Capital Gains Tax and Crypto in South Korea

While a bill that would enhance transparency around cryptoassets trading works its with through the Assembly, the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance is planning to tax capital gains on crypto trades.

This continues the blockchain friendly but crypto-antagonistic stance of the Korean government. An income tax on crypto trading revenue is much more transparent and encourages beginners to start trading. Capital gains taxation introduces unnecessary friction into professional traders lives by adding complex record keeping to their multi-exchange trading activities.

Italy to Launch Copyright Management on Algorand Blockchain

Italy’s Society for Authors and Publishers, SIAE (like ASCAP, BMI, or SACEM), has chosen the algorand blockchain for its new digital copyright management solution, in partnership with the University of Rome La Sapienza and Blockchain Core.

SIAE hopes to create greater efficiency and transparency in the digital rights management process.

Our collaboration with Algorand is part of a process of synergy and cooperation with major players in the fields of research and innovation, both on a national and on a global scale.

Gaetano Blandini, SIAE General Manager

The collaboration between technology providers and companies projected into the future, such as SIAE, paves the way to great opportunities for progress towards economic models that promote inclusiveness, transparency, and frictionless transactions. I am honored by the fact SIAE selected the blockchain developed by Algorand, making it the backbone of its new initiative. I will be thrilled to witness the creation of these solutions, supported by the performance and features we implemented in Algorand 2.0.
